Decisions, Decisions, what to do!!!

Post by vanner065 on 25/8/2011, 2:00 pm

Im not sure which way to go, i love my Ford LTD of 92 vintage, its fully optioned and V8 on duel fuel. The motor has just done 500,000ks leaks oil like a sive, flutters on idle but goes really well still, front end needs work also. Now i am not sure if i should retire it and buy a later model or put a good motor in it from another fairlane i have at home and then spend some money on the front end, this option is obviously cheaper but i do 800kms a week just to and from work and a newer car with better comfort and tecknowledgy is really appealing. I am looking at a 1999/2002 model fairlane or LTD like the one below. Here they both are, i would like to hear others opinions, thanks

from someone who wrote off a pristine wb stato then brought a vx berlina, i miss my wb, old is good, the vx is wonderful and comfortable, all the creature comforts... but the wb stato was like a road trip everytime i drove it, just my opinion Smile

Old Skool, sometimes thats what you have to do if you want a nice van to show off

Monk!!! Welcome back, must be over 12 months dude. Yeah i don't know what happened , i had a brain snap. Went to the yard to look at a $3750 car and drove out in a 3year old car. Being duel fuel was a big thing and 12 mths reg, RWC and all transfers paid swayed me. Still love my LTD though, not sure if i will sell it.

Hey James,
Sorry mate but its got 2 too many doors. Should have grabbed a ute and then thrown a Amcat canopy at it. Then you would have a cool Commodore. Cool

Yeah, very strange driving the Dunnydoor, got to get used to the lag in the shift and take off, but when the fuel goes thru it flies, seriously.

Just got 610 kms out of a std 68 lt gas tank, i thought my LTD was good getting 450ks, totally wrapped.

Would never have bought a Commodore if it wasn't for the price i got it for, a ute would of been about 6g more and can't afford that
