Just having a discussion about vans here at work - one guy is wondering if anyone knows anything about a van from the 70's called Midnite Oil? It was black and had the name Midnite / Midnight Oil muralled down the side. Anyone know? Any photos? ta M

He's adamant that it existed. It may not have been well known. I'm sure there were/are vans out there that aren't necessarily known even though they're done up.

The two main vans that I admire most are:

1. BRUTLE- Because you can't mess with that much muscle!! I love a mountain of polished metal especially hanging out of a Van!! I can't wait to see the next transformation........ Twisted Evil

2. BLUE METAL- Such a Classy yet Tough looking Van. Beautiful EH Lines, perfect stance and awesome colour!! Cool
(I wanna call my van "Gold Metal" in Honour except for that fact that it sounds crap Rolling Eyes )

These are 2 very cool vans!!!!! afro

how about "Metal Gold" (instead of Gold Metal) or "MetGOLDica" as in Metallica - nah, maybe not - or what about Smooth Gold or Goldie? or Fools gold or Gold Rush or Pure Gold or or or i'm sure we can all think of some variations..... you should start another thread and get suggestions and maybe have a prize for he/she that can send you the best name for your van. The prize could be a limited no. of photos shoot with your photographer friend.... hmmm there are so many options Laughing

Midnight Oil was a 1970 HG Van, black with stealed out flared guards, 308 4spd, salsbury lsd, 650 holley, was stolen whilst being built but was recovered and built again, engine bay and firewall was a deep purple, this van was entered in the " Freedom Wheels Spectacular" in Brisbane and took out best paint, best engine bay and shared the trophie for best individual display.

There is a Black HG running around Newy that has got a window in the same spot.If Midnight Oil was anything like this one you definatly wouldn't miss it.
It's as straight as a die and the bloke just puters around in it.
